It's open thread night, and I need your opinions on a couple of big news items.

For instance, how will Justice Kennedy deciding to call it quits affect the future of the Supreme Court? trump gets another appointment, and that should scare every person who is not a card carrying Nazi.

With the huge upset of a mainstream democratic congressional candidate in New York by a left leaning upstart, does that mean there is a huge split in the democratic party? Or, is it all just wishful thinking on the part of pundits and the chattering class to make the mid-terms more interesting?
